To know Katelyn + Patrick is to love them. They are some of the kindest, funniest, and most thoughtful couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We instantly connected after they found me Instagram, where soon after, we arranged an engagement session at their wedding venue at Upstreams Vineyard in Napa, CA.
From Katelyns first inquiry, I knew her and Patrick's love story was nothing short of special.
They met in college and were always friendly, but did not start dating the spring of their senior year. Both Katelyn and Patrick lost their fathers far too young, and they've always had a feeling they set them up together from heaven. Fast forward 5 beautiful years, and they were engaged, and now - MARRIED!
Being from the East Coast, they opted a destination wedding in the heart of wine country. Katelyn's family has hosted a couple weddings on this beautiful family property and ever since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted her special day to be here as well.
The morning started with Katelyn and her girls getting done up by one of the most talented makeup artists in Sonoma County, Stefanie Weinapple. Katelyn's classic low bun by Stella Stevens emphasized her glowing skin, simple jewelry and INSANE dress! We had to snag a few bridal portraits of Katelyn before her first look with Patrick because hello, look at her! Katelyn shared a sweet first look with her mom before sharing one with Patrick.
Patrick and his groomsmen (two of them being his brothers) kept their morning casual and lighthearted. They got ready, lounged around and joked all morning. They could barely stop laughing for photos, and that's perfectly fine with me!
Patrick's reaction to Katelyn during their first look was one I will NEVER forget! His jaw literally dropped the moment he set eyes on her. His first words, "Wow", and then a louder, "WOW!" had us all smiling. I'm so happy they hired Sofiya and Tim from Sofiya Luna Weddings so I can watch it whenever I want!
Katelyn + Patrick's wine country wedding
was classic, timeless, and elegant. Their centerpieces were freshly picked grapes directly from the vineyard they married in, with gentle pops of red accents and mixed matched candelabras that belonged to Katelyn's grandparents. Having several weddings between their siblings, the Hornes are no strangers on how to throw a party! Celebrating with their closest family and friends, they enjoyed delicious food, props on the dance floor (a hilarious tradition) and a late night taco truck.
I will forever be honored and thankful that Katelyn + Patrick's chose me to document their wedding,
and I'm so fortunate to call them lifelong friends!
